An introduction to me!

Hey there! My name is Evan Peacock. Welcome to my blog. I'll try to keep it focused on photography, but I may dip into other aspects of my life here and there. For those of you who don't know anything about me, here's a brief intro.

I'm currently 19. I split my time between the Detroit area and the Indianapolis area. I'm originally from Indy, but I'm currently playing junior hockey for a team in Detroit. This is my last season of junior, and in 2026 I will head to school at a place yet to be determined.

As far as my photography is concerned, I started seriously doing photography when I was 16   and a sophomore in high school. I was looking for something creative to do, and hadn't really   felt the right fit with drawing, painting, or any of the other visual arts. My dad had an old   Nikon D5100 crop sensor camera lying around the house, so I asked if I could use it and   started shooting. I started taking it with me pretty much wherever. I woulud travel a lot for   hockey, and it always came with me. I also love taking walks in nature, and it of course went   with me then. My early work is pretty unspectacular, but it gave me a start and made me fall   in love with photography. As time went on, I simply kept working and got better. I took sports   pictures, continued taking nature ones, and even have dipped my toe into some abstract   photography. Now, my main camera is a Nikon Z6 mirrorless with a variety of different f-mount lenses. I use an adapter so I can buy the cheaper glass for the newer body (pro tip!).

Heading back to Detroit this year, I'm super excited to have been accepted as a freelance photographer for several different sports team at Michigan State. In addition to this, I'm hoping to do some senior pictures and other freelance sports photography. I will also, of course, be continuing my nature photography. Stay tuned for updates! I'm planning to post here regularly and I´m always happy to respond to questions.
